Poise is an app that lists singles events and dating events run by independent hosts: singles nights, speed dating, singles socials and parties. You browse what is on in your city, pick a night and book with the host. It is available for iPhone and Android.

Poise is for meeting people in person. It lists singles events, and you go to them. There is no swiping and no chat in the app.

Poise lists singles events wherever a host has one on. As of 12 October 2026, that includes London, Guildford, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The list changes as hosts add nights, and the current one is at poisedating.co/cities.

Independent hosts, not Poise. As of 12 October 2026, the hosts on Poise include Love at First Sign, Bored of Dating Apps, Pitch Your Friend and True Dating. Each listing names its host, and the host sells the ticket.

The app is free to download, and browsing events and clubs is free. Tickets are sold by the host at the price on the listing. A subscription is optional and adds the practice deck, the lessons and your progress.

Adults aged 18 and over. You need an account, made with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. Each host says who their night is for.

Look up your city on Poise, in the app or at poisedating.co/events. Poise lists the singles nights, speed dating, socials and parties coming up there, with the venue, the time and the price of each.

Find the night on Poise and open its listing. The Get tickets button opens the host's own ticket page, where you book and pay under the host's terms. Poise does not sell tickets.

Yes. Most people at a singles event come on their own, and the hosts expect it. Every listing on Poise says who the night is for and how the host runs it, so you can pick one that suits you.

Most singles nights are held in a bar or a venue taken for the evening, where everyone is single. Some give you something to do besides talk, such as a quiz or a game. Speed dating is the structured kind: a few minutes with each person, then you move on. It depends on the host, and each listing on Poise describes its own night.

Hosts often set a night by age, and Poise prints the age range on each listing. As of 12 October 2026, nights listed on Poise include: 21 and over, Ages 20 to 39, Ages 30 to 49 and 50 and over. Choose your city on Poise to see the ones near you.

On Poise each host says who their night is for: everyone, or straight, gay, lesbian or queer singles. When you set up the Poise app you say who you want to meet, and it shows the nights that fit. What is listed depends on the hosts in your city.

Go where single people have chosen to be. At a singles event everyone came to meet someone, which takes the guessing out of saying hello. Poise lists those events, and its practice deck is there if starting the conversation is the hard part.

On Poise the listing stays up and is marked Cancelled. Refunds are handled by the host you booked with.

A deck of more than 300 five minute challenges about talking to strangers, in seven tiers. The first tier is one line to one person. The last is asking for a phone number. You say where you are, double tap a card, and a five minute timer starts. The Daily challenge is free. The deck and the lessons are part of the subscription.

No. Browsing events and booking with a host needs no subscription. The deck is there for anyone who wants walking into a room of strangers to feel easier.
